Built by Hynix, branded with Strontium, these solid state drives take form on the basis of SF 2281 controller from SandForce and SK Hynix Flash. These SSDs have been upgraded with 500 MB/s of read and write work, and reportedly faster on PCs and Macs, coming with added durable features, silently operating, and being shock proof.
The newly launched Hawk is a 2.5 inched SSD, with storage capabilities of 120 GB and 240 GB. With read speed measuring at 510 MB/s and write speed 470 MB/s, the random measurement for read is 50,000 IOPS and write at 38,000 IOPS. Support is available for an interface of SATA I/II/III, TRIM for which O/S support will be required, comes with a 1.2M of Mean Time between Failures (MBTF). This SSD will give a quick boot up and a rather shorter lead time while loading applications.
