Sony Xperia miro and Xperia SL now up for grabs in India

With tech giants from the world taking an interest in the Indian market, there is no dearth of gadgets in the country. More and more companies now give India as much importance as they give to other international markets. This has led to an increased number of devices entering the nation's market pretty soon after their international launch. The latest one to land on Indian shores is Sony's Xperia miro and Xperia SL. But for now, they can be found only with online retailers in India. Retailers like Infibeam, Saholic, Snapdeal and Flipkart have started shipping Sony Xperia SL for Rs 30, 999, whereas Sony Xperia miro can be bought for Rs. 14, 499.

Given the price tag of the upgraded Xperia S variant, it is quite obviously a high-end smartphone, though it is not quite justified. It sports a 4.3-inch display that delivers a resolution of 720p. Furthermore, it runs on a 1.7GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 dual-core processor and Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Xperia SL also packs 1GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, a 12.1-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, and FM radio. The next one on the list is Sony Xperia miro. An entry-level phone, it comes with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 320x480p. Xperia miro is powered by an 800MHz Cortex-A5 processor with 512MB of RAM and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Other specs include 4GB storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera with pulsed LED flash, and a VGA front camera.

With a growing list of Sony handsets being launched in India, Sony seems to be more than eager to up its game to face the rather fierce competition. But what may work against the company is the pricing of its handsets, which are not quite in accordance with the Indian market.
