As auto products these days have a low shelf life, the car manufacturers revamp the products to revive sales. Either to bring the car on par with its competitors or to counter product its fatigue manufacturers introduce a refreshed version and generally on yearly basis. Maruti did the same with Swift Dzire and recently unveiled the facelift version of Swift Dzire in the month of February. With the launch of a new version; the streets were abuzz as to what will happen to the older version. Maruti Suzuki has come out with an answer to that question; the older Swift Dzire is being directed towards the taxi segment. Taxi market Swift Dzire is christened as Swift Dzire Tour and will be available in both fuel base variant only, Lxi for petrol and LDi for diesel. Dzire Tour petrol variant price is tagged at Rs. Rs 4.88 lakh and the diesel variant will cost Rs. 5.91 lakh.
The taxi segment Swift Dzire will be available in the market from this April. Dzire Tour will arrive with the customary features like power steering wheels, AC, front and rear bumper, exterior rear view mirrors, with a miniscule change in door handles, which are now black. The pricing of Dzire Tour can work wonders for Maruti as the prices are placed so competitively and all the other brand models available in this segment ( taxi market) are priced higher than Swift Dzire Tour. The petrol variant Lxi is the cheapest in its segment, whereas the diesel variant LDi will be juxtaposed to Tata Indigo XL .
