In a month loaded with tech launches by the titans from all over the world, LG will be seen making its own contribution pretty soon. September hosted an array of launches, the biggest and the latest one being Apple iPhone 5, which literally brought about a wave of technological trance. And with an intention to bounce back in the race, LG is almost ready to reveal its weapon, i.e. LG Optimus G. Now that they are done with posting teasers of their upcoming smartphone, this Korean mobile maker has now sent out invites for a joint shindig with Qualcomm. To be held in New York on September 19, the LG-Qualcomm event will almost coincide with HTC's event on the same day, in the same city. While HTC is expected to unveil both, Android and Windows 8 devices at their event, rumour has it that LG will finally announce Optimus G.
LG Corp's reputation as a reliable mobile manufacturer took a beating ever since Apple and Samsung surfaced as leading players in the market. However, it has now pinned its hopes on the new Optimus G, which will be powered by a second-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor. At least that's what their invite hints at. Other than that, LG Optimus G will feature a 4.7 inch IPS True HD display that will offer a resolution of 1280X780. In addition to that, it will also pack a 2GB RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 1.5GHz processor with 4G LTE connectivity provisions. What makes this an even more powerful contender is the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, which will be further complemented by the Optimus UI 3.0. As powerful as it may sound, it yet remains to be seen how well LG Optimus G scores against its main rivals, i.e. Apple iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S III.
