The launch of the Ivy Bridge silicon by Intel in India has led to the flow of numerous new Acer laptop ranges from a variety of OEMs which work on the chipset. The recent example is the Taiwanese multinational technology giant Acer which has announced a number of new variants which use this chipset. Acer Aspire series has received an upgrade in all its S, M,V3, V5 and E series of notebooks. Lets begin with the new Timeline Ultra M3, the notebook is now as sleek and elegant as it could be and is just 20 mm thick, additional feature here is the Nvidia GeForce GT640m GPU accompanied by the Intel second generation Sandy Bridge stack of chips.
The notebook fancies a 15 inch display with an optical drive for a DVD. According to claims of the company the notebook is set to deliver an impressive 8 hours of battery life. Timeline Ultra M3 is priced at a starting of Rs 51,999. Acer also calls this product an “UltraBook”. The V5 series like the prior one also works on second generation Intel Sandy Bridge processor and features Nvidia GeForce graphics. According to claims this series is 30% more sleek and 10% light on the weight.
V5 pricing starts at Rs 27,999. Acer V3 series is the where all the gaming lies. The notebook also features Intel Sandy Bridge CPU along with a dedicated Nvidia GPU which offers up to 2GB of memory. V3 series will start at Rs. 37,999 with a variety of screen sizes to choose from. E-series is for the budget conscious customers and pricing begins at Rs. 24,749. Acer’s newest addition to the pack is the S series will work on the latest generation Intel Ivy Bridge Silicon and will have a 13.3-inch display, the pricing of this series is yet to be announced.
